So close...
I should be ashamed of myself....my blogging has taken a back seat over the past month. This is due mainly to the beginning of school. As you know, I am an 8th grade Forensics/Communication Arts (Drama) teacher at a Junior High. As the year began, I became one busy bee. All the prep for maternity leave is no joke! I thought creating substitute lesson plans was hard for one day....ahhh!! But...never the less...they are complete. I'm actually home already...but no baby in tow. We've had a very interesting couple of weeks. At 34 weeks, I went into the hospital with a horrible rash my doctor calls "The Rash of Pregnancy." Personally...I think he made up the name, but never the less...it's a rash that develops in some women during pregnancy. The worst part is that there is nothing they can do about it. The doctor put me on steroids, cortisone cream, all sensitive lotions and body wash....you name it I'm on it. Nothing works. The itching is insane. All I do is itch. So...in the middle of the night, I went into the emergency room. My blood pleasure was through the roof as well as my pulse....so up to the Maternity Level I went. Once there, they hooked me up to a machine to check on my baby girl. As normal...she was fine, but contractions began very shortly after. Because I was only 34 weeks...I received a shot....of what I think was peanut butter it was thick...and contractions slowly dwindle away. The next few weeks were pretty normal. Until the night I was 37 weeks pregnant. Again...in the hospital with contractions. This time 2-3 minutes apart and very strong. However, they checked my cervix 3 times....and nothing. No dilation! SO....off to the house I went. Contractions continued for the next 48 hours at an extremely strong pace. On Wednesday of last week, I went to the doctor....still no dilation. So....apparently my cervix hates me. I'm now 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant. As you can imagine, I am so ready to have Ms. Macy here. But nothing yet. I've come home for maternity leave because teaching through contractions is no bueno. On Wednesday...Trace and I will go back to the doctor again. If there is no progression...we will schedule an induction for this Saturday. Only time will tell, but with 12 days until our official due date...Ms. Macy is getting so very close. I just can't wait for her to be here. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin this amazing journey in our lives.

Hey Jessica, I love your blog. I can't wait to see pictures of your sweet baby. Hang in there. It will all be worth it once she is here!
