Beautiful Baby Girl!

Well...it's been a long time coming, but I have finally found a few minutes to update my blog with a few pictures of Macy. Motherhood is already such a blessing. I am exhausted and thrilled all at the same time. I miss sleep, but am so deeply in love that I can't even explain it. Everyone told me that having a baby would change my life and I was prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for was how much love I could have for someone I barely know. I realize that Macy grew inside of me for 40 weeks, but everyday I look at her and see something new. A freckle, a hair, a dimple...everyday she changes. It's amazing to me. Not to mention...every time I look at her...I some how love her more than the time I looked at her before. It just doesn't seem possible. I realize now that this is what I was put on this planet for. This is why God blessed me with Trace. This is why God put me in to teaching instead of Law. This beautiful baby girl makes my whole world go round now. I'm amazed I was ever able to live without her.

Because it has been so long, I should probably tell you all how this whole Birth thing went down. As you know, I had a little trouble getting Ms. Thing here. Macy was a little stubborn on this whole birth thing. So....at my 38 1/2 week appointment, Dr. Smith decided it was time to schedule the induction. As with all the appointments before, I was dilated to a 0. So the induction was schedule for October 6. On Monday night, Trace and I arrived at Mercy Hospital at 4:30. We got checked in and began patiently waiting for the process to begin. Dr. Smith came in around 7:30 to give me a cervix softening medicine. When he checked me, I was still a 0. Then....the party began. At 1 A.M., I was in a lot of pain. The nurse came in and checked me and I was only at a 1. Because they knew it would be a long time before Macy made here appearance, they decided to go ahead and give me the epidural so I could get some sleep. At 7:30 A.M., the nurse came back in to remove the cervix medicine. When she checked me, I was dilated to a 7. During the next contraction, my water broke and I went to a 10. They called Dr. Smith and he left a C-section at Northwest to come deliver Macy. When he got there, the nurses had literally been holding Macy in for 30 minutes. They had to do everything in their power to keep from delivering her. At 8:53 A.M., my beautiful angel arrived. She weighed 7lbs, 5oz and was 20.5 inches long. Here is the first picture I took of her.

The past three weeks have flown by. My little Angel is growing like a weed. She is now in 0-3 month clothing and weighs 8lbs, 6oz. I realize how much of blessing she is each day and I continue to marvel in how great God is. Trace and I are truly, truly blessed!

This is Macy at her 2 week appointment.

Here is Macy and Trace. Trace is reading her "Daddy Hugs" book to her. As you can see....she loves it!
