The Holidays!

I really should be ashamed of myself. It has been months since I kept up with my blog. But...with the new year...comes new resolutions. One of mine is to keep my blog updated. It may be silly, but some day... I want Macy to be able to look back and see what I was thinking when she was young. So...this is my modern, technilogical way of doing so. :) Now...on with why we are here...the newest post!

The Holidays!! For the most part...Macy's first set of Holidays have been wonderful. Let's begin with Halloween. Macy spent her first Halloween helping Ms. Millie celebrate her first birthday. This was quite a big day for her and me as well. As most first time moms....I am completely parinoid! Add the Swine Flu outbreak to a parinoid mother and you've got a full on loone! But...I swallowed my fears and let the poor girl out of the house at just over 3 weeks old. It was a great experience. Millie's birthday was a time of great fun and excitement. Macy slept through most of it, but I'm sure she was wishing Millie good thoughts through her dreams. Here are a few pictures to help commemorate!

Our next exciting adventure came at Thanksgiving. Macy was seven weeks old and I (being the purely insane woman that I am) agreed to host Thanksgiving at my house. Believe it or not... I would call the day a success. I had over 25 people in my home celebrating the holiday and couldn't have been more happy. Macy enjoyed herself as well. She was passed around like a relish tray and loved every second. The girl is definately an attention hog!! The next morning, she joined Mommy for a little Blitz shopping! Now...I'm not completely crazy. The baby wasn't out at 4 A.M. However, she did join Mom, Theresa, Whitney and I around 6:30 for a fun filled day of bargains to be had. She was such a trooper!! She hung in there like a pro. But...by the end of the afternoon...she and I were both pooped!!

Finally we made it to Mommy's favorite time of the year.....Christmas!! I was pumped. We began the season with the lighting of the square in Bentonville. I was so excited to have her see all the beautiful lights and enjoy and evening out with Mommy, Daddy and our friends Jessica and Brent. However...my sweet girl did nothing but sleep. We arrived at the square around 5:30. She was asleep when I got there, but I thought that the excitement would wake her for sure. WRONG!! She sleep like she had never slept before. The good news was at least we had a cute outfit!

One of the fondest memories I have from this season was making Macy's Christmas Card pictures. I know that I probalby should have had her picture taken professionally, but Trace and I decided we were professional enough. So...we set out to make the Christmas picture. We got Macy in her Christmas outfit and set her on the bed in her Bumbo. But...the bumbo is purple....so that does work. I decided to lay the bed sheet (which is white) over the bumbo seat and presto! Trace and I are professions. I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! :)

It was finally time for Christmas Day and I was so excited. We started the season on Christmas Eve at my mom's house. We were over to bake cookies. However...an uninvited visitor showed up. The stomach flu! I ended up in the Hospital Christmas Eve Evening with two bags of IVs and a lot of Medicine. However...it didn't stop the miracle of my first babies Christmas. Trace and I were overwelmed by the amount of gifts given to Macy. That girl is so spoiled. Trace ended up with the flu on Christmas Night, but the fun still lived on. Let's just say it's a Christmas we will ever forget!
